Livestock feedlots can produce a significant amount of energy when the manure is processed effectively and efficiently. Hayward Gordon’s HydroMix® digester mixing system is proven technology to produce the most return from this once waste product. HydroMix systems develop a mixing regime in the fluid volume which consists of both circular and top to bottom fluid motion. The mixing regime is designed to promote the uniform blending of the contents and solids suspension to optimize methane production.
The production of ethanol requires effective mixing in the process of converting the bio-mass to a sellable commodity. High flow, high-efficiency mixing is critical to the success of producing this renewable fuel in a cost-effective manner. Hayward Gordon’s HydroMix® digester mixing system consists of a ChopX chopper pump located outside the tank with strategically placed nozzles inside the tank – no moving parts in the tank. A mixing pattern of circular motion combined with top to bottom motion creating a uniform slurry for maximum yield.
Mixing and high temperature are the basics used to transform corn into a gasoline additive or a base for alcoholic beverages. Optimized blending and solids suspension leads to maximum yield with minimum energy input. This is accomplished with high flow and low shear hydrofoils, Hayward Gordon and Sharpe Mixers have some of the highest efficiency impellers in the industry.
Biodiesel is fuel created by processing animal fats and new or recycled vegetable oils. Biodiesel is made through a chemical process called transesterification, where glycerin is separated from the fat or vegetable oil. The process leaves behind two products – methyl esters and glycerin, which are converted to fuel.
Biodiesel can be used as a direct replacement for ordinary diesel. Biodiesel properties also are subject to legislation like American ASTM standards and European Standard EN14214.
